The Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC) is requesting proposals for research studies to help reduce the impacts of aquatic invasive species in Minnesota by preventing the spread, controlling populations, and managing ecosystems.
“MAISRC’s project request is a wonderful opportunity for our local universities and institutions to get involved in our state’s fight against aquatic invasive species,” said Senator Paul Utke (R-Park Rapids). “With continued research and through private and public partnerships I am optimistic that we can continue to find better ways to contain aquatic invasive species and preserve our lakes for generations to come.”
MAISRC has allotted a total of up to $1,000,000 in funding for this cycle and will distribute the funds by targeting high-priority research needs that will be identified through a systematic needs assessment.
Proposals will be welcome from all investigators at any Minnesota-based academic or governmental research institution. Researchers who have not previously been supported by MAISRC are especially encouraged by the center to submit proposals. Research collaborations and multi-investigator projects are also strongly encouraged and may include experts from outside of Minnesota as needed.
Pre-proposals will be accepted by MAISRC up until Friday, January 5, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
Please visit MAISRC’s website here for the full announcement and application materials.
