Sen. Mike Goggin (R-Red Wing) and Minnesota Senate Republicans today unveiled budget targets for the 2019 legislative session along with an ambitious and detailed agenda that builds on responsible investments made in 2017 and 2018. The budget doesn’t ask taxpayers to pay more, and instead focuses on making government more affordable, accessible, and accountable.

As part of the rollout, Senate Republicans unveiled a comprehensive website for the public to find information on spending area breakdowns and specific agenda items pertaining to each issue area. The website can be found at www.mnsenaterepublicans.com/budget.

“We put this agenda together by listening to the concerns of Minnesotans,” said Sen. Goggin. “Over and over, I heard that health insurance and prescription drugs were too expensive, that roads and bridges are in disrepair, and that affordable child care is too hard to find. As one of the highest taxed states in the country you would expect a better return on your money. We are going to make government more affordable and accessible, but we are also going to restore some accountability, so you can be sure you’re getting the best value for your tax dollar.”
