The Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MAARCH) has named Sen. Julie Rosen (R-Vernon Center) their Legislator of the Year for 2019. The award recognizes Sen. Rosen’s work on substance use disorders, mental health issues, and expanding treatment and recovery resources.
“This award is an incredible honor,” said Sen. Rosen. “I have worked with so many families who have lost loved ones or nearly had their lives destroyed; their heartbreaking stories are the reason I have spent so many years trying to improve the way we provide treatment and support to those struggling with addiction or battling mental health issues. It has been a collaborative effort and we have made a lot of progress, but we also know there is still so much more to do.”
MAARCH’s membership consists of more than 2,500 individual members and 80 organizations. In addition to serving as an advocate at the capitol and working with policymakers, MAARCH provides professional guidance, education, and training to addiction and mental health professionals throughout the state.
