Senator Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove, was named 2019 Legislator of the Year by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA) on Monday. Sen. Limmer serves as Chair of the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee.
“Senator Warren Limmer is a champion of law enforcement, who consistently advocates for us at the Capitol,” said Dennis Flaherty, Executive Director of MPPOA. “Whether it’s helping us secure critical funding for police training, or pushing back against harmful legislation that will jeopardize the safety of Minnesota communities, Sen. Limmer is a real friend to law enforcement. We are so thankful to have leadership like his in St. Paul, and it’s why MPPOA is proud to award him Legislator of the Year for 2019.”
MPPOA was founded in 1922 as the voice of rank and file officers in Minnesota and is resolutely committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, integrity, honor and courtesy in the policing profession. MPPOA’s membership consists of municipal police officers, county deputy sheriffs, and officers employed by the State of Minnesota.
