Housing First Minnesota has named state Senator Jason Rarick (R-Pine City) as a recipient of their 2019 Housing Leadership Award, the organization announced. Housing First Minnesota, a leading advocate for homebuilders and remodelers, honored Sen. Rarick with the award for his commitment to a vibrant housing market.
“Owning your own home is the cornerstone of the American Dream, but that dream is now out of reach for too many people,” said Sen. Rarick. “As much as 1/3 of the price of a new home in Minnesota is due to regulations or local policies. I am glad to work with organizations like Housing First to make home ownership more affordable.”
“At a time when the housing affordability crisis continues to grow, leaders like Senator Rarick played key roles in advancing housing affordability and homeownership opportunities for all Minnesotans,” said David Siegel, executive director of Housing First Minnesota.
Housing First Minnesota is the leading voice of home builders and remodelers and all who are dedicated to building safe, durable homes at a price Minnesotans can afford. As a program of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, Housing First Minnesota represents 1,200 builders, remodelers, developers and industry suppliers throughout the state.
