(St. Paul, MN) – The Minnesota Federation of County Fairs recently honored Senator Carrie Ruud (R-Breezy Point) with the 2020 ‘Friend of the County Fair’ award.
“We appreciate the support Senator Ruud has provided all of the State’s county fairs, especially through arts, history, and cultural heritage funding in the Legacy Bill,” said Tiffany Gustin, MFCF Executive Secretary. “This investment will allow Minnesota’s county fairs to provide an even better experience to the thousands of attendees across the state.”
Senator Ruud is the chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Legacy Finance Committee. She is a steady advocate for the protection of resources and practices that have been the foundation of Minnesota recreation for decades.
“We are thankful for Senator Ruud’s support, which has provided great opportunities for the Aitkin County Fair,” said Kirk Peysar, Aitkin County Fair Board. “This program is especially valuable for rural fairs, where arts and cultural programming often takes a back seat to operational and capital needs.”
“Participation in fairs is part of being a Minnesotan,” said Senator Ruud. “I am proud to support the MCFC’s commitment to the preservation of our traditions and the development of fairs around the state. I look forward to partnering with them in the future!”
