Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz yesterday announced that the deadline for taxpayers to file their state income taxes has been pushed back to July 15. President Trump had previously pushed back the federal income tax filing deadline to the same date. Senate Tax Committee Chairman Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) issued the following statement in response:
“It was clearly the right decision to postpone tax filings. There is already enough uncertainty, confusion, and chaos happening right now without people having to worry about completing their returns. However, if individuals are going to get money back, I hope they will still file their return right away – getting that money into their hands and back out into the economy will be good for all of us.”
