On Tuesday, Gov. Walz announced his proposed two-year budget. The budget includes $52.4 billion in spending and calls for $1.64 billion in new taxes on Minnesotans.
Senator Bill Weber (R-Luverne) released the following statement in response to the Governor’s budget announcement:
“Governor Walz’s proposed budget misses the mark and punishes Minnesota families and small businesses,” said Sen. Weber. “Our residents and businesses have already been through enough as the result of COVID, and families are facing hard financial choices. Our budget’s focus should be to empower families, seniors, farmers, and main street businesses. That, coupled with responsible government spending that prioritizes cutting waste while maintaining the essential functions of state government, will put us on the best path forward as our state prepares to move past this pandemic.”
