In the first month of this year’s legislative session, Senator Zach Duckworth (R-Lakeville) has chief authored or co-authored over 90 bills aimed at improving the lives of Minnesotans.
“It’s an honor to serve the people of Senate District 58 and I’ve committed to immediately getting to work on their behalf,” said Senator Duckworth. “I’m focused on getting our kids at all grade levels back in school safely, reopening our businesses safely, helping our veterans, and supporting our communities as they navigate through these challenging times. I’ve authored and co-authored a number of bills aimed at accomplishing these goals.”
As a member of the Education Committee, Senator Duckworth has stressed that getting children back in the classroom is a priority in addition to ensuring they have the resources needed to make up for the time lost. He has also co-authored a bill aimed at safely reopening small businesses and is supporting legislation that will help business owners resolve the paycheck protection loan forgiveness tax issue. Senator Duckworth is also supporting first responders by co-authoring a bill for the Hometown Heroes Assistance Program that would assist firefighters with cancer or heart disease. As a member of the Veteran and Military Affairs Committee, he also continues to author various pieces of legislation that help our Veterans.
“After a year full of uncertainties, our students, communities, small business owners, veterans, and seniors need all the help and support we can provide,” continued Senator Duckworth. “That means no tax increases and a willingness to find bipartisan solutions for all Minnesotans. I’m looking forward to tackling these important issues in the coming months while serving the people of district 58.”
