On Tuesday, Minnesota Management and Budget released the November budget forecast showing a record-setting $7.7 billion projected surplus for the 2022-2023 biennium. Senator Mark Koran (R-North Branch) issued the following statement regarding the forecast report.
“It’s good news that our budget situation has improved, but we have to remain focused. The truth is that while the government’s financial situation may look rosy, that is not an experience shared by families and small businesses across Minnesota. Folks face unprecedented inflation, and our economy continues to struggle to recover from the pandemic. As we approach the next session, I will continue to push against democrat’s efforts to balloon our budget and continue to advocate for targeted relief for workers and businesses as well as efforts to get our economy firing on all cylinders again.”
