Proudly representing Senate District 2
Steve was elected in to serve in the Minnesota House in 2012, where he served his constituents until his election to the Senate in 2022. Growing up on a farm in Fosston, Steve felt a strong calling to represent his district and the unique interests of the environmental and farming communities. Upon his graduation from Fosston High School, Steve attended Detroit Lakes Area Vocational Technical Institute.
Before entering politics, Steve continued the tradition of operating the family business, Lakeland Greenhouse for 23 years. He now works in the construction and carpentry industry and has been self-employed for 31 years. Steve and his wife Cindy have 6 children.
Steve proudly represents district 2, which includes communities in Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Clearwater, Mahnomen, Becker, Cass, Hubbard, and Itasca Counties.
