Senate Democrats unwilling to continue Veteran-focused committee, Lang responds

Today the Minnesota Senate debated its rules and committee rosters for more than four hours on the second day of session. A point of contention was the unbalanced committees, as well as the lack of a Veterans Committee. Senator Andrew Lang (R-Olivia) previously chaired this committee and released the following statement:

“Today I am completely shocked and disappointed that Senate Democrats refuse to continue the good work we’ve done in the Veterans Committee. Our Veterans have given so much to our state and country, it’s only right that the Senate has a committee dedicated to their needs and concerns. Today, the Democrats voted against having this committee, demonstrating just how much they value the good work we’ve done on behalf of Veterans and their families. This movement away from a Veterans Committee silences voices of our American Protectors.”
