Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As of Monday, May 8, there are exactly two weeks remaining until the constitutionally required date of Monday, May 22 by which the Legislature must adjourn.
LETTER TO SOUTH DAKOTA GOV. KRISTI NOEM
All session long Gov. Walz and the Democrat legislative majority have been doing all they can to promote division, completely shutting out and ignoring the 49% of Minnesotans across our once great state who voted against Democrat senators. Among the Democrat divisiveness was the bill recently signed into law allowing children to be transported here and administered harmful puberty-blocking chemicals and/or undergo gender mutilation surgery without parental consent or even knowledge.
Due to the vacuum of leadership in the Executive Branch of this state, I was among 24 legislators in the Senate and House who co-signed a letter sent Friday last week to a true executive branch leader, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. We are urging her to use her influence and authority to prevent any who might participate in transporting a child through South Dakota attempting to reach Minnesota for purposes of being involved in the heinous acts of puberty blockers or bodily mutilation.

MAYO CLINIC
An ultimatum given by Mayo Clinic in Rochester to Gov. Walz and legislative Democrats was leaked last week as reported by Minnesota Reformer. If legislative Democrats and Democrat Gov. Walz continue to push two harmful bills, Mayo Clinic will move billions in investments to another state. There is no way I can put this gently: Democrats are destroying this state with their Socialist aspirations. Thus far this session, Democrats have passed bill-after-bill with the most logic-defying mandates and job-killing regulation.
As one of the largest employers in the state, Mayo Clinic may have enough influence to cause Democrats to blink regarding the two specific pieces of legislation Mayo Clinic opposes. However, the sad reality is hundreds of other equal or worse mandates have already passed or are on the cusp of passing into law which will have devastating impacts across our once great state, but of which the opposing voices don’t have the voice of Mayo Clinic.
MORE OMNIBUS BILLS EXPECTED
With only 14 days remaining in the session to completely finish the work of passing all bills to fund the entirety of state government for the next two years, it’s anticipated this coming week will be a packed schedule of Floor sessions as omnibus bills return from Senate-House conference committee negotiations. I fully anticipate the bills returning from conference committees will be chalk full of explosive growth in government, new tax increases, crushing new mandates on job creators, and every other Socialist dream Democrats can conjure up.
