On Saturday, Nov. 4, the West Central Area Knights defeated the Underwood Rockets 3-1 to claim the Section 6A title, qualifying for the 2023 Class A state tournament. Senator Torrey Westrom (R-Alexandria) released the following statement on the team’s success and recent pep fest:

“Congratulations to the West Central Area Knights! Quite a buzz around the Westrom family as our twin daughters play on this team! I know there are many Moms and Dads who are proud of the team’s handwork and perseverance throughout this season.

“Before the team left to the state tournament, WCA held an exciting pep fest in celebration! Adding to the fun, they recruited me to serve as the referee for the Dads vs. Daughters scrimmage game, and I think they made the right choice. I called them as I saw them! Best wishes at the state tournament, Team!”
