Today Senator Justin Eichorn (R-Grand Rapids) expressed disappointment in the Tuesday decision to override Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation (IRRR) Advisory Board’s vote against a $2.5 million loan for a tribal cannabis facility.
“I am deeply disappointed by the recent decision to proceed with this project despite the board’s clear decision to vote against it,” Sen. Eichorn said. “This move not only undermines our process but also the role of the board. Our community expects leadership that adheres to the decisions made through proper channels. Ignoring a majority vote sets a dangerous precedent and erodes the trust the northland has in this organization.”
