Local legislators to host EMS Town Hall in Elbow Lake on Monday, June 10

WHO: State Representative Jeff Backer (R-Browns Valley) and State Senator Jordan Rasmusson (R-Fergus Falls)

WHAT: Rep. Backer and Sen. Rasmusson invite constituents to learn more about the $30 million aid package for rural emergency medical services (EMS) recently passed by the Minnesota Legislature. This bipartisan legislation provides $24 million in emergency aid for EMS providers who are focused on services in Greater Minnesota. Another $6 million is dedicated to an innovative sprint medic pilot program for Otter Tail, Grant and St. Louis counties.

Throughout the interim, a bipartisan EMS Task Force, including Rep. Backer and Sen. Rasmusson, investigated how the state could improve the life-saving services provided by EMS personnel. The EMS aid package is a result of feedback the Task Force received from Minnesotans across the state.
