Today Senator Justin Eichorn (R-Grand Rapids) celebrated the recent announcement of a $295,000 Live Well at Home state grant to Grand Rapids’ ElderCircle. The Live Well at Home grant will provide support to aging Minnesotans to help them reside in their homes longer.
“Helping our seniors maintain their independence for as long as possible is important for families and our community,” said Eichorn. “With an increasing population of aging Minnesotans, these grants are a cost-effective way to bring peace of mind to families in Northern Minnesota and support our seniors and veterans with access to the resources they need.”
The ElderCircle grant will support projects to streamline community-based services for informal caregivers like family members while helping veterans, solo agers, and others 65 and older.
The Live Well at Home program has distributed state-appropriated grants since 2001 in Minnesota. The latest grant funds are being distributed to over 30 organizations throughout the state.
