It is with sadness I share that Minnesota former Senate Democrat Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic has passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was 62.
If cancer has touched someone close to you, you know the devastating toll it takes. Yet throughout her illness, Senator Dziedzic remained devoted to her constituents – she was participating in meetings and working on legislation even in her final days.
I had the chance to work closely with Senator Dziedzic a number of times over the years. I always found her to be a warm, smart, and trustworthy leader, and her integrity earned respect from Republicans and Democrats alike. She will be deeply missed.
