Senator Tomassoni Finally Sees Conflict, Quits Lobbying Job
Under immense pressure from his district and here in St. Paul, Senator David Tomassoni (DFL- Chisolm) resigned today as Executive Director of the Range Area Municipalities and Schools (RAMS). Here is Senate Republican Leader David Hann‘s statement on the resignation:
“Senator Tomassoni made the right decision today to resign from his lobbying job. It was never a good idea for a sitting Senator to take a job as a lobbyist and he shouldn’t have put his constituents, the RAMS Board and the Minnesota Senate through this.
Believing this was possible in the first place is a symptom of the culture of self-interest that is growing within the Minnesota Democratic Party. Huge pay raises, new office buildings, record campaign finance violations, ethics violations and now trying to acquire an extra salary for representing your constituents. The Democrats in St. Paul need to be held accountable.”
