Statement of Senate Republican Leader David Hann regarding today’s announcement that insurance rates for Minnesotans stuck in the individual market using MNsure are rising as much as 50%:
“ObamaCare and MNsure have been disastrous to Minnesota’s health insurance market. Once again, the burdens of higher premiums and fewer choices fall on middle class families across the state. This problem was created by Gov. Dayton and the Democrats. Today, the Senate DFL majority remains indifferent to the pain their “reform” has caused and offer no solutions.
“When the 2017 session begins, Senate Republicans will take steps to clean up this mess and ease the financial burden on families and farmers hurt by MNsure. We’ll propose solutions to increase choice, allow more Minnesotans (including agricultural groups) to qualify for group coverage and open the private market to people who qualify for public programs. Republicans care about the families being hurt by MNsure and plan to take action in 2017.”
