Election Year Stunt: Five Questions to ask Senate Democrats about MNsure
Today Senate Democrats will hold a press conference to call for a special session to resolve the healthcare crisis caused by their blind devotion to MNsure. Republican Leader David Hann released the following statement:
“Today’s press conference should be seen for what it is: A political stunt nineteen days before an election by a Democrat majority desperate to maintain control. For three years they’ve done nothing to fix the serious problems Minnesotans have been facing, they’ve blamed insurance companies for following the very laws they imposed, and now they’re proposing Band-Aid solutions that won’t create long term stability and lower costs.”
Five questions for Senate Democrats:
Why didn’t you agree to a special session two weeks ago when Sen. Abeler and Rep. Hamilton called for it? Is this an election year stunt?
Why are you finally concerned about healthcare costs 19 days before the election? Is this an election year stunt?
Why did your party reject every common sense amendment offered by Republicans in 2013 when MNsure was originally debated? Is this an election year stunt?
Why are you holding a press conference to ask Governor Dayton, your political ally, to hold a special session, when you could just pick up the phone? Is this an election year stunt?
Do you agree with Governor Dayton that “the Affordable Care Act is no longer affordable,” or was that an election year stunt also?
