Minnesota Senate Republicans announced today that Senator Michelle Benson (R-Ham Lake) will chair the Senate Health and Human Services Finance and Policy Committee again in 2019 and 2020. Senator Benson also served as chair of the committee during the 2017-2018 session, where she led a drive to stabilize Minnesota’s individual health insurance market and reduce costs for consumers.
“The last two years marked an amazing reversal for Minnesota’s health insurance market,” said Sen. Benson. “Our reforms gained national attention for their success, and small business owners, farmers, and families on the individual market saw real relief. I’ve always said we still have much more to do, and I am excited to get back to work on making health care more affordable for every Minnesota family.”
Senate Republicans also announced a full slate of committee chairs for the upcoming biennium.
