Today, a Ramsey County Court found the governor’s recent veto of funding for the legislative branch to be unconstitutional. Sen. Rich Draheim (R-Madison Lake) issued the following statement.

“I am satisfied with the court’s ruling and commend Judge Guthmann for his speedy decision. This outcome was never in doubt – the governor’s attempt to defund the legislature was a clear-cut violation of the constitution. Minnesotans have a right to three co-equal branches of government, and this ruling solidifies that. I wish we could have avoided this entire episode, but I look forward to putting it behind us and getting back to the real issues facing Minnesota families.”
