Senator Rich Draheim (R-Madison Lake) once again took the oath of office as a Minnesota State Senator when the legislature convened for the 2023-2024 legislative session on Tuesday. Sen. Draheim is serving his 3rd term.
“Serving in the Minnesota Senate continues to be an incredible privilege,” Draheim said. “I am humbled the residents of Senate District 22 chose me to be their voice at the capital. I am eager to get back to work on behalf of this state that we all love.”
“We have a big agenda in front of us,” Draheim continued. “We have a big budget surplus that I want to make sure gets back to Minnesotans who desperately need it. And I am looking forward to continuing my work on job creation, economic development, housing, and support for law enforcement. I am anticipating a productive year.”

Sen. Draheim will serve as the Republican lead on the Senate’s Jobs and Economic Development Committee, and as a member of the committee on Housing and Homelessness Prevention. He represents Senate District 22, which includes communities in Blue Earth, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Rice, Scott, and Watonwan Counties.
