Friends and neighbors,
Last week, a Minnesota House committee meeting was disrupted for over 20 minutes by protesters who screamed obscenities at members of the committee. The protests were agitated by Democrat Rep. Leigh Finke, who encouraged this group to storm into the hearing room with bullhorns and vulgar chants.
Their goal? To shut down the legislative process and stop Republicans from governing.
Representative Walter Hudson posted a video of the disruption here. Be warned, it contains extremely vulgar language.
Remember: everything happening in the House right now is entirely of the Democrats’ making. They cheated in the election by running a candidate who didn’t live in the district. Then they got caught, and that member was ruled ineligible to serve. Instead of accepting responsibility, they are refusing to come to work and filing lawsuits to force the courts to intervene.
Meanwhile, House Republicans have followed the law and are continuing to govern the way our constituents expect.
For comparison, The Senate (which is tied 33-33) is working under an agreement that gives Republicans and Democrats equal power in leadership positions and in committees. If House Democrats showed up to do their jobs instead of sending protesters to disrupt hearings, the House could move forward too.
These protests, which Democrats openly encouraged, do nothing to serve the people of Minnesota. They are a distraction from the real issues that families, workers, and communities face every day.
Republicans will continue to do the work you sent us here to do.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear from you.
God Bless,
