Friends and neighbors,
This year Democrats passed a deeply troubling new law that would give licensed librarians sole authority over what books are placed in school libraries. It strips away the ability of parents and school boards to have input library materials – especially those containing obscene, explicit, or age-inappropriate content for young children.
We know that for far too long, our public schools have engaged in censorship, lies, and deceit within their curriculum and libraries. We have witnessed a systematic effort to water down the teaching of American history, patriotism, and the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our nation was founded. Instead, explicit books are being offered in school libraries, exposing students to inappropriate or harmful content.
This provision continues that disturbing Democrat trend of silencing parental voices and those with sincerely held concerns about what children are being exposed to. I spoke about it during a floor debate near the end of session.

This is another assault on parental rights. We must reject it and demand transparency and accountability in our education system. Our children’s well-being is at stake.
