Friends and neighbors,
On March 3, I had the opportunity to meet with Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and outspoken advocate for keeping women’s sports fair. She spoke to the Senate Republican caucus before leading a rally at the Capitol in support of making sure only biological girls compete in girls’ athletics.
Riley’s message was simple: fairness matters. Women and girls should not have to give up their scholarships, podium finishes, and safety. We cannot ignore biological realities.
Shortly after our meeting, Senate Republicans took action on the Senate floor to bring the Save Women’s Sports Act up for an immediate vote. Our bill protects girls by making sure that girls’ sports remain for biological females only, just as Title IX intended. Right now, our bill is stuck in the Education Policy committee, where the Democrat chairman refuses to give it a hearing.

Unfortunately, Senate Democrats blocked our motion and refused to make girls a priority. The same thing happened in the House, where every Democrat voted against a similar bill.
Minnesota women — our daughters, our sisters — deserve better. The majority of Americans agree that men should not be competing in women’s sports, yet Democrats continue to ignore science, fairness, and common sense.
This is not the end. Like you, I will not stop fighting to protect opportunities for women and girls in sports.
If you have any questions, please reach out any time.
God Bless,
