On Wednesday, Senator Karin Housley (R-Stillwater) was officially named the Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the United States Hockey Hall of Fame Museum. Housley has served for the last 6 years on the Board of Directors.
“I am so honored to be named Chairperson of the Board. With Phil’s career as both a player and coach, hockey has been a cornerstone in my family for as long as I can remember. It is incredibly special to be part of this organization, and this appointment is made even more special knowing that I get to follow in the footsteps of my good friend, David Tomassoni, who was the previous Chairperson and also the person who got me involved with the Museum. I look forward to continuing his legacy as the Board continues its work in supporting the Museum.”
The historic Museum, located in Eveleth, Minnesota was originally dedicated in 1973 as the “National Shrine of American Hockey.” In 2007, the Hall’s name was officially updated to “The United States Hockey Hall of Fame Museum.”
“Karin brings a unique perspective to the board, due to years of experience within the sport. She was a natural fit for the Chairperson role, and we are thrilled to have her as an integral part of our Executive Committee,” said Doug Palazzari, Executive Director.
