Senator John Jasinski (R-Faribault) released the following statement today about the governor’s vetoes of the tax bill and supplemental spending bill.
“I am extremely displeased. Since arriving at the Senate two years ago I have tried to keep an open mind, but it has become crystal clear the governor is all about politics and not about compromise and doing what is best for Minnesota.
“I think of the poor deputy registrars out there who are fighting for their livelihoods due to the failed rollout of MNLARS. They are maxing out their credit cards and taking out second mortgages in pure desperation to keep serving their customers, and they have now been devastated by not one, but two, of the governor’s vetoes.
“It is upsetting that the pen stroke of one person can ruin the work of 201 people committed to working together to get something done for the people of Minnesota. To say I am angry is an understatement.”
