Friends and neighbors,
I’m honored to have been reappointed as Deputy Leader of the Senate Republican Caucus. I have held this role for the past two years, and I’m grateful to continue. Leadership isn’t about titles or fanfare; it’s about rolling up your sleeves, building relationships, and doing the hard work that makes life easier for Minnesotans. Serving in the Senate has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I see this role as a chance to deepen the connections I’ve built and tackle issues that matter most to our communities.
Public service, to me, is about balance. I believe we can stay true to our principles while also finding common ground. The challenges our state faces aren’t one-sided. Whether it’s making life more affordable, keeping our neighborhoods safe, or ensuring a quality education for every child, these are issues that touch us all. It’s my job, both as your State Senator and as a leader in the Senate, to tackle these issues in ways that make a real difference in people’s lives.
I owe a lot to my colleagues, both Republican and Democrat, who I’ve worked with for years to bridge our differences. It’s not about giving up on our beliefs; it’s about finding a path forward that best serves Minnesota.
Over the last couple of years we’ve lost our way a bit. Democrats used their total control of Minnesota government to jam through an extreme left-wing agenda. They tossed aside bipartisanship and destroyed relationships in the process. We’ll have a lot of work to do to repair the damage when the legislature reconvenes, but I remain optimistic.
I want to thank Senator Mark Johnson, our Republican Leader, and all my colleagues for placing their trust in me for this leadership role. And above all, I want to thank you, the residents of Senate District 19, for your continued support, feedback, and your trust in me to serve you in the Senate.
I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead. Serving our communities and ensuring your voices are heard in the Senate is what drives me every day.
