Proudly representing Senate District 9
Senator Jordan Rasmusson is serving his first term in the Minnesota Senate. He represents Senate District 9, which includes communities in Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Traverse, and Wilkin counties. He serves as a member of the Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection; Human Services; and Capital Investment committees. He also serves on the Pension Commission.
Before being elected to the Senate, Senator Rasmusson served a term in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Senator Rasmusson grew up in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and is a sixth-generation resident of Otter Tail County. He graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree in government. Before joining the Legislature, he worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company and as a private equity investor at Bain Capital.
Senator Rasmusson is an experienced business leader who fights for small business owners and entrepreneurs and works to control state government spending and taxes. He also prioritizes the views and values of Greater Minnesota, fair education funding and school choice, and protection for life and Second Amendment freedoms.
He and his wife, Emma, currently live in Fergus Falls, where Senator Rasmusson works as a consultant. He is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and serves as a board member of the Fergus Falls YMCA and Otter Tail County Historical Society.
