Last week, Senator Michael Kreun (R-Blaine) was appointed to the Legislative Task Force on Child Protection. The Task Force is comprised of a bipartisan group of Legislators, six from the House and six from the Senate. Its purpose is to identify additional areas within the child welfare system that need to be addressed by the legislature. In addition, the Task Force also provides oversight and monitoring of various Departments and their implementation of laws related to child protection.
“I’m honored to be appointed to a task force that serves such an important purpose for children and families across the state,” said Kreun. “I serve as a volunteer lawyer for the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota representing children in need of protective services, and I hope to contribute the knowledge I’ve gained in that role to the task force. It is of the utmost importance that we provide proper oversight regarding any laws or agencies that impact children and their wellbeing. Families in Minnesota deserve to know that we are looking out for them and keeping their needs in mind. I look forward to engaging in this meaningful and necessary work throughout my time in the Senate.”
Kreun will serve on the task force until December 31, 2024.
