Friends and neighbors,
The deadline is rapidly approaching for Minnesota’s veterans of the Post-9/11 era to apply for the service bonus they have rightfully earned. If you or someone you know is one of the brave Minnesotans who served during these difficult years, please do not let this opportunity to receive your well-deserved recognition – and pay – pass you by. Applications must be received by June 30. Apply at MinnesotaVeteran.org/ServiceBonus
Over the last two-plus decades, Minnesota veterans have bravely raised their hands to defend our nation around the globe. You stared down grave dangers most of us will never be able to comprehend. You endured scorching desert heat, brutal mountains, and worst of all – the constant threat of violence from a brutal enemy. Deployment after deployment, you returned to the unforgiving battlefields of Afghanistan, Iraq, and across the Middle East, leaving loved ones behind.
Too many of our Minnesota heroes never came home, paying the ultimate price. They died upholding the American values of freedom, democracy, and human rights that we champion every day, and their selflessness in the face of mortal danger will live on.
To those who did return, you bear a lot of wounds – both physical and psychological. We know how hard, if not impossible, it is to erase the images of the horror of war. The debt we owe you is one that can never be truly repaid.
But this service bonus is a small gesture by which we aim to express the eternal gratitude of every Minnesotan. By applying, you allow us to honor your patriotism, courage under fire, and commitment to duty.
I urge all eligible Post-9/11 veterans to apply immediately at MinnesotaVeteran.org/ServiceBonus before the June 30th deadline. Let this bonus serve as a symbol of our profound respect and admiration.
Thank you for your service.
Sincerely,
