Please see the attached letter delivered to Sen. Murphy this morning.
During yesterday’s floor debate, Senator Murphy was asked whether Senator Mitchell is a member of the Democrat Caucus. The exchange is viewable here, and the partial transcript is below.
Sen. Karin Housley: Thank you, Senator Murphy, Mr. President. You stated she is not currently participating with your caucus, but Senator Latz said she has been removed from your caucus. Has Senator Mitchell been removed from your caucus, Senator Murphy?
President Champion: Senator, uh – Senator Housley is asking Senator Murphy to yield. Senator Murphy will yield to the question. Senator Murphy.
Sen. Erin Murphy: Thank you, Mr. President. And to Senator Housley. Yes.
Senate Rule 10.6 requires the Chair of the Rules committee and the approval of the minority leader to remove or add members to committees. In keeping with the request to remove Senator Mitchell from her assigned committees, the attached letter approves those removals.
In addition, Senate Rule 10.1 requires standing committees of the Senate be proportionally represented on the standing committees of the Senate, and the attached letter makes additions to the Committee on Rules and Administration to align with the Republican and Democrat caucus each having 33 members.

Sen. Kupec stated in the interview:
“What we did as a caucus, what we can do, is we removed her from our caucus.”
“She has some serious issues to deal with. Personally, I think she should seriously think about whether she should resign or not.”
“You know in my personal view, if this was me, yeah, I would probably resign. We need to be held up to those highest ethical standards. We absolutely do.”
