Raised in Red Wing, Minnesota, Senator Mike Goggin learned at an early age the value of helping others and giving back to your community and is utilizing this passion for public service in his first term in the the Minnesota State Senate serving the residents of Senate District 21 in Goodhue, Wabasha, and portions of Dodge and Winona counties.
Following his graduation from Red Wing High School, Senator Goggin received a business degree from Gustavus Adolphus and became a manager of a small business. This experience allowed Senator Goggin to experience firsthand how finances work in the real world, and that providing exceptional customer service had a real impact on the business. He furthered his education, receiving an electrical engineering degree from the University of Colorado-Denver. In 2004, Mike and his family moved back to Red Wing, and Mike is currently a certified project manager for the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant.
Mike and his wife, Pam, have two sons, David and Dylan. David is pursuing a chemical engineering PhD from Colorado School of Mines. Dylan is pursuing a finance degree from Iowa State University where he is also captain of the hockey team. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and friends or in the stands cheering Dylan on.
