State Senator Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) was recently named the recipient of the “Arts All Star” award by Minnesota Citizens for the Arts (MCA). The award is given by MCA each year to selected legislators for their tireless support of the Minnesota arts community.
“A signature trait of any thriving city or state is a strong arts community,” said Senator Miller. “The arts inspire us, help us see the world from new viewpoints, and activate our creativity. I am proud to partner with great organizations like MCA to strengthen Minnesota’s arts community, and I am honored to receive this award.”
“Senator Miller has been a steadfast supporter of the Minnesota Arts Board and regional arts councils for as long as he has been in office,” said Sheila Smith, Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts. “His support has allowed the arts community in southeastern Minnesota to flourish.”
Minnesota Citizens for the Arts is a statewide arts advocacy organization that organizes the arts community to lobby the Minnesota State Legislature and Congress. Our mission is to ensure opportunity for all people to have access to and involvement in the arts.
