Senator Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) has been named a Clean Energy Legislative Champion by Clean Energy Economy Minnesota (CEEN), for his commitment to moving Minnesota’s clean energy industry forward. During the 2017 session, Senator Miller was instrumental in preventing budget cuts that would have devastated Minnesota’s small solar businesses.
“I am humbled and honored to accept this award,” said Senator Miller. “The only way we can ready ourselves to meet the demands of tomorrow is by considering all of our energy options. Solar and other forms of clean energy are a crucial part of the discussion – not just in terms of energy production, but in innovation, jobs, and a thriving economy. I’m thankful for organizations like Clean Energy Economy Minnesota, and the great work they are doing to spread awareness about the contributions that clean energy businesses are making to Minnesota’s economy.”
“Senator Miller was the natural choice for this inaugural Clean Energy Legislative Champion award,” added Gregg Mast, CEEN’s executive director. “As Chairman of the Senate Jobs Committee, Senator Miller fought hard during the 2017 legislative session to ensure that Minnesota’s clean energy industry will continue to grow and thrive, providing more jobs and economic benefits for Minnesotans in all regions of the state.”
“We thank Senator Miller for his dedication to our state’s fastest growing industry sector and look forward to our continued work with him to further strengthen this competitive market that employs thousands of Minnesotans in good paying jobs,” said Marty Morud, CEO of TruNorth Solar and CEEM Board Chairman.
