Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) once again took the oath of office as a Minnesota State Senator on Tuesday when the legislature convened for the 2023-2024 legislative session. Sen. Nelson is serving her fifth term representing Olmsted County.
“I am so excited to be back at the capitol working for the people of Olmsted and Dodge County,” Nelson said. “It is such an honor to have this trust and faith placed in me to serve them here in St. Paul – a responsibility I take extremely seriously. As I have every year, I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver on the priorities that Minnesotans sent us here to address. We have a massive, historic budget surplus. Let’s return that to the taxpayers with real, permanent tax relief. Let’s continue supporting schools, and let’s keep our streets and communities safe. I look forward to continuing to work for you.”
Sen. Nelson encourages constituents to ask questions, provide feedback, and offer ideas. She can be reached at her capitol office at 2301 Minnesota Senate Building, 95 University Ave, St. Paul; by email at sen.carla.nelson@senate.mn; or by phone at 651-296-4848.
Sen. Nelson will serve as a member of the Taxes Committee, and as a member of the Committee on Capital Investment. She represents Senate District 24, which includes communities in Dodge and Olmsted Counties.
