Carrie Ruud was born in St. Cloud Minnesota and raised in the community of Robbinsdale. She currently resides in Breezy Point with her husband, Dick. Together they have five children, 18 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Carrie and Dick are brokers and co-owners of Lakes & Leisure Realty, Inc. in Breezy Point. They have been together in the real estate business for more than 25 years. In her political tenure, Carrie has also served as Mayor for Breezy Point.

Carrie is passionate about Minnesota’s great outdoors and has led several efforts to increase access, improve facilities and encourage tourism across our great state.   Always looking for a challenge, Carrie and her son race in inline marathons. Carrie also competes in snowshoe racing and has won gold and bronze medals at the National Snow Shoe Championships. Carrie loves inline skating, running, cycling, snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, anything that brings her into the great outdoors.

Carrie and Dick enjoy hunting and fishing. They have a deer hunting camp that has become a family tradition making many memories and “Tall Tales.” Spring crappie fishing brings the grandkids to the dock after a winter of walleyes through the ice. Fall, of course, is for pheasants and ducks!

Carrie now serves Senate District 10, which includes Aitken and Crow Wing counties.
