On Thursday, Senate Republicans elected Senator Bill Weber (R- Luverne) to serve on their leadership team as the caucus prepares for the beginning of the 2023 legislative session.
“Senate Democrats control the chamber by the slimmest of margins and need to work with us to govern to help all Minnesotans,” Weber said, “Each of our 33 members was elected by their district for a reason and to fight for them and deliver results. This session, we will continue to work to return our historic surplus to the people, reduce crime and fear on our streets, and improve education so that all children have a bright future in this state.”
Senators Julia Coleman (R- Waconia), Justin Eichorn (R- Grand Rapids), and Karin Housley (R- Stillwater) will also serve on the Senate Republican Leadership team. Senator Mark Johnson (R-East Grand Forks) was appointed to serve as Senate Minority Leader. A Deputy Leader and another Assistant Leader will be named later.
