Senator Scott M. Jensen, M.D., is the President and Founder of the Catalyst Medical Clinic, P.A., in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, and the Minnesota State Senator for Carver County. He also is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School in the Family Practice Department. His professional experience since graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1981 has included private group practices, dermatological surgery rotations, numerous emergency room positions, and a variety of community service roles.

It was in the corridors of hospitals that Scott fell in love with taking care of people, and this love affair has endured for nearly forty years. Focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of his patients’ well-being continues to intrigue him daily as well as motivate him to be a powerful advocate for maintaining compassionate relationships between physicians and patients.

Scott’s wife, Mary, is a veterinarian, and they make their home in Carver County, Minnesota. They have three grown children, Cristy, an anesthesiologist, Matt, an attorney, and Jackie, a family practice physician.
