Awarded 100% rating from the National Federation of Independent Business
Senator Carla Nelson [R-Rochester] received a perfect 100% rating from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for her votes in support of small businesses during the 2017-18 legislative biennium. The NFIB is the largest small business association in the country, representing small and independent business owners nationwide through nonpartisan, member-driven advocacy.
“As a small business owner, I understand firsthand the struggles and obstacles small business owners face,” said Senator Nelson. “Small businesses and the jobs they provide drive our regional and state economy. I am proud to advocate on their behalf and I will continue to champion policies that allow small businesses to flourish in our communities.”
This Saturday, November 24 is “Small Business Saturday”, a nationwide event that encourages individuals to do their holiday shopping at local small businesses. Observed annually since 2010, it is a boost to independent business owners and local employers.
“As we begin the holiday shopping season, I encourage folks to frequent our many excellent small businesses in Olmsted County,” added Senator Nelson. “I look forward to participating in Small Business Saturday this year.”
