The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce today released the results of a new poll that shows Minnesotans broadly oppose gas tax increases, paid family leave, and tax increases on businesses. Senate Taxes Committee Chairman Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) issued the following statement in response:
“Minnesotans simply do not support the DFL agenda. From Albert Lea to Baudette, from Marshall to Chisholm, and even in the Twin Cities, people don’t want the Democrats’ gas taxes, paid family leave taxes, or small business taxes. Republicans are proposing a balanced, reasonable budget that Minnesotans can afford and that holds government accountable. Instead of blocking bills with bipartisan and even unanimous support, House Democrats and Gov. Walz should listen to what regular Minnesotans are telling them and work with us on a compromise.”
