Seeks public input on legislative priorities
Senator Rich Draheim will hold two town hall listening sessions at the Belle Plaine and Elko-New Market Libraries on December 18th, prior to the start of the 2019 Minnesota Legislative session in early January. The public forums will focus on legislative priorities for the upcoming session. Senator Draheim will preview the 2019 legislative session, discuss state policies, and field questions from community members.
“In this divisive political climate, it seems that the focus is too often on the problem, not the solution,” said Senator Draheim. “Through these town halls, I do not want to focus on the issues that divide us, but rather the shared solutions that will better our community and state.”
The town halls are open to the public and free of charge. For those who cannot attend, you can submit questions ahead of time to Senator Draheim at sen.rich.draheim@senate.mn, or via mail at 95 University Ave W., Rm. 3227; St. Paul, MN 55155. Also, community members can watch the town halls live and ask questions on Senator Draheim’s Facebook page at fb.com/SenatorRichDraheim.
“The most important job that we do as legislators is listen to the voices of our community members,” added Senator Draheim. “These town hall meetings will allow for residents to discuss their ideas and concerns in-person, ultimately shaping legislation. I look forward to engaging in a solution-centered community conversation and I highly encourage folks to attend.”
