State Senator Mike Goggin (R-Red Wing) has been appointed to serve on the conference committee for Senate File 780, the Agriculture budget bill. Sen. Goggin is one of five senators who will serve on the committee. The conference committee is responsible for working out the details between the House and Senate versions of the bills, and finding a compromise with the governor’s office.

“Agriculture is the backbone of our economy,” said Sen. Goggin. “A thriving ag economy doesn’t just benefit Greater Minnesota; it benefits the entire state. I’m proud my colleagues trusted me with this responsibility, and I’m excited to work on a compromise that strengthens our farming community.”

The conference committee for Senate File 780 has not yet set its first meeting time.
