Senator Mary Kiffmeyer (R-Big Lake) was selected on behalf of Housing First Minnesota and its membership of over 1,200 homebuilding, remodeling, and associated industry businesses to receive its 2017 Housing Leadership Award.
“I am honored and greatly appreciate being presented with the 2017 Housing Leadership Award,” said Senator Kiffmeyer. “Housing is a critical issue to me, and it is important that our state aims to provide support to Minnesota families struggling to find safe, affordable, and reliable housing. With our state’s housing market continuing to struggle the legislature must review potential overbearing regulations and implement any reform that may help advance Minnesota forward. I look forward to continuing my work through the coming year.”
The 2017 Housing Leadership Award reflects a legislators’ commitment to a vibrant housing market that ties together the communities of our great state. Additionally, the award recognizes legislators’ work throughout the 2017 legislative session to promote homeownership in communities people love, at a price families can afford.

Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer (R-Big Lake) is serving her second term in the Minnesota State Senate representing Senate District 30, which includes the communities in Hennepin, Sherburne, and Wright Counties. Sen. Kiffmeyer serves as Chair of the Senate’s State Government Finance and Policy and Elections Committee.
