Balanced budget agreement invests significantly in E-12 education
Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester), chair of the Senate E-12 Education Committee, released the following statement after legislative leaders and the governor reached a bipartisan, balanced two-year budget compromise for the State of Minnesota:
“The legislature and Governor Walz reached a bipartisan, balanced budget compromise that invests significantly in the education of Minnesota students across our state. For the second education budget in a row that I have authored, we increase the per-pupil funding formula by 2 percent each year of the two-year budget, directly impacting students and teachers in the classroom. While we continue to work out details over the next few days, this education budget will again put students first and funds what works.”
