Senator David Osmek (R-Mound), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Utilities, issued the following statement on Governor Walz’s consideration of ending a Minnesota Department of Commerce court appeal opposing the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline project:
“The time is now for Governor Walz and the Commerce Department to acknowledge the conclusion of every other environmental and regulatory agency in our state: Line 3 needs to move forward without any other costly delays. This project will bring sustainable, good-paying jobs to our state, improve our Greater Minnesota communities, and perhaps most importantly, ensure oil is transported in the safest way possible across our state. The bottom line: if Governor Walz drops this last-ditch effort by the Dayton Administration to prevent Line 3, the project moves forward. It’s time to end this circus and get this project underway immediately.”
