Free of charge and open to the public
Senator Torrey Westrom (R-Elbow Lake) and Representative Paul Anderson (R-Starbuck) will hold a series of town hall listening sessions throughout House District 12B on Friday, March 8. Sen. Westrom and Rep. Anderson will discuss state policies and field questions from constituents regarding the current legislative session.
“As always, we are facing a wide variety of challenges in the Legislature and input from residents of District 12B is helpful as we prepare to make some difficult decisions this session,” Anderson said. “There are plenty of issues we can discuss, from the governor’s proposal to raise the gas tax, to health care costs, the latest news on agriculture, and beyond. This is a great opportunity for people in our area to let us know where they stand on those issues and others, so we can continue doing our best to represent them.”
“Town hall meetings allow community members to directly communicate with us, ultimately shaping legislation,” added Sen. Westrom. “Listening to the thoughts and concerns of citizens is the top job of a legislator, and I strongly encourage folks to attend and share their priorities.”
The town halls are open to the public and free of charge. Each will last approximately one hour. They are scheduled to begin on Friday, March 8 at 9:15 AM at Albany City Hall located at 400 Railroad Ave in Albany, followed by 10:30 AM at Melrose City Hall located at 225 1st St NE in Melrose, 11:45 AM at Sauk Centre City Hall located at 320 Oak St. S. in Sauk Centre, and 2 PM at the Glenwood Pizza Ranch located at 14 E Minnesota Ave W in Glenwood.
