The Senate Health and Human Services Finance and Policy Committee, chaired by Senator Michelle Benson (R-Ham Lake), is holding an informational hearing on the state’s COVID-19 response on Wednesday. Senator Benson made the following statement regarding the meeting –
“We may be dealing with this pandemic for quite some time, so we need answers. It’s imperative that the legislature and public know the metrics state leaders are using to make decisions for all of Minnesota.
“There has been no recent communication from the governor’s office on modeling. Not only is that necessary information, but it should be supplemented by clear terms and definitions for testing, mortality, and future steps.
“Clarification of these points, and more, is our goal in holding an informational hearing in the Senate. The state should be working for the people, not above them. Transparency is the key to recovery.”
